COPPLESTONE Farm Shop has been granted a licence to sell alcohol and have live music up to seven days a week.

Owners Lucy Babb and Michaela Bundy can now sell locally made alcohol in bottles and cans for customers to drink at home and host outdoor events with a licensed bar and live music.

The licence hours apply from 8am to 11pm Monday to Sunday. They must stop selling alcohol for drinking on the premises 30 minutes prior to closing, serve drinks for consumption on site in toughened glass or recyclable cups, and ticket live music events to control numbers.

Mid Devon District Council received nine letters about the plans, of which one was in support and eight were against.

Copplestone Parish Council had called for a “trial period” to “provide the applicant with a fair opportunity to demonstrate that the premises can operate responsibly”.
