PLANS to turn two barns into homes at a farm near Black Dog have been given the green light.

Jane Schofield can now convert the redundant agricultural buildings at Lewdon Farm into one three-bedroom house and one two-bedroom house, both available for sale on the open market.

Nobody wrote to Mid Devon District Council in support of or against the proposals. Thelbridge Parish Council did not comment on the plans.

Lewdon Farm has a Grade II listed farmhouse, probably from the 17th century, and seven barns of varying ages.

“The design of the scheme is generally considered to be acceptable however further details are required to be submitted by condition in order to ensure the proposed works are acceptable in terms of the impact to the character, appearance, setting and significance of the heritage assets,” said a Mid Devon District Council spokesperson, approving the plans.
