THE Crediton Heart Project recently donated a willow owl to Crediton Library, which ran a competition to find a name for the owl.
There were lots of entries but the winner was Percy Moore who suggested the name “Hoot”.
Rosemary Stephenson, chair of the Crediton Heart Project, said: “The owl was made at a workshop during the summer in a marquee behind Redlands Surgery.
“We are really delighted that he has found a home in the Crediton Library Community Garden.”
Rosemary presented Percy with a voucher for £25 to spend at The Bookery in Crediton.
Percy, a pupil of Hayward’s Primary School, was delighted to win. He said: “I’m really excited I’ll be able to buy three new Asterix books.”
Library Supervisor, Sue Lee said: “We are delighted with the owl and will be proud to show “Hoot” to an RHS judge who is due to visit us.”
