THE A377 through Copplestone is set to be closed overnight for five nights.

Both sides of the one-way system will be shut alternately between 7pm and 7am from Monday, October 6 until Saturday, October 11.

Only one side will be closed at any one time. When the western side is shut, the diversion will be via Barnstaple, Bideford, Torrington, Winkleigh, Bow and vice versa.

When the eastern side (from Bassetts Bridge to Bewsley Hill) is closed, the one-way system will be revoked and temporary traffic lights used.

The closure has been ordered for “jetting and CCTV of all drainage gulleys and associated assets”, a traffic order says.
