ALL IN all, this year's football season at QECC has seen over 40 fixtures take place for the school including all age groups all over the southwest of England.
The year kicked off with the year seven boys travelling to Millfield school in the national cup narrowly missing out on qualification to the next round, as did the year nine boys who travelled to Chew Valley school in Bristol.
However, after a rocky start to the season, results started to go our way with many successes...
The Year 8 (Under 13's) side this year has rarely lost. They were triumphant at the Exeter schools finals day winning the whole competition and also managed to make it in the Devon County Cup Final, which was held at the Devon County FA in Newton Abbot against Torquay Boys' Grammar School.
Throughout this game, our boys played the better football but in a cruel five-minute spell, conceded two unfortunate goals.
The game finished with Torquay winning 4-2 but the attitude of the boys throughout was superb.
Despite the Year 9 boys (under 14) losing their first game of the season in Bristol, they went from strength to strength, winning all their local fixtures, which included the road to St James' Park (Exeter City FC) in the Exeter and East Devon County Cup Final.
In the competition, the boys were triumphant against teams including St Luke's, Tiverton and St Peter's in making it to the final against Cullompton College.
Exeter City's provided a magnificent stage for the boys with over 200 spectators and a pitch, which looked more like a carpet!
Our team put on a magnificent performance and came out 4-1 winners!
Sam Gallagher, who was playing up an age group managed to score his hat-trick with Ryan Guppy finishing off the scoring.
Other successes of the season included the year 10 girls finishing second overall in the Exeter School's finals day and the year seven boys only losing one game in their entire season.
The weather caused massive inconvenience this season with fixtures being cancelled and then re-arranged most weeks.
This aside, the season has been a fantastic one and I must thank all teachers, parents and pupils that have come to support the teams.
Thanks must also go to the PE staff who have given up their time to referee and run teams, without whom, no fixtures would have been made possible.
Thanks to everyone and well done to every single pupil who has represented QECC Football this year!
