WITH the publication of the Allocations and Infrastructure Development Plan document, this may be a good time to resurrect the idea of creating part of Crediton at the time of St Boniface.

It seems the huge amount of soil excavated from the proposed link road route in causing major problems in its disposal.

Would it be possible to create a massive hill fort or Saxon defences in the area adjacent to Tesco?

This could be a very exciting development for tourism and also re-inforce historical identity and be an outstanding entry into the Mid Devon area.

Such a huge undertaking would have to involve English Heritage and forward looking local businesses to make it happen.

I hope your readers at least give it a thought and maybe a chuckle.

P.S. Another option could be a huge hill with a statue of St Boniface on top or the last Celt leaving for Cornwall, pointing to the west.
