THREE elections are set to be held to fill empty seats on Crediton Town Council, Sandford Parish Council and Mid Devon District Council.

The elections for Crediton and Mid Devon come after the death of Frank Letch MBE at the age of 80 on April 8.

The window for nominations in all three contests is open until 4pm on Friday, May 30.

If the elections are contested, people will go to the polls to vote for the candidate of their choice on Thursday, June 26.

If any of the elections are not contested, the roles will be filled automatically with whomever is nominated.

Nomination papers should be delivered to the Returning Officer, Phoenix House, Phoenix Lane, Tiverton, Devon, EX16 6PP.

They can be obtained from the same address, by emailing [email protected], or online at middevon.gov.uk/your-council/voting-elections.

Applications to register to vote (for people not already on the electoral register) must reach the electoral registration officer by midnight on Tuesday, June 10. Applications can be made online.

Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes and amendments or cancellations of proxy votes must reach the electoral registration officer at Phoenix House, Phoenix Lane, Tiverton, Devon, EX16 6PP by 5pm on Wednesday, June 11.

Applications for a voter authority certificate or an anonymous elector’s document valid for this election must reach the electoral registration officer by 5pm on Wednesday, June 18. Applications can be made online.

New applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the electoral registration officer at Phoenix House, Phoenix Lane, Tiverton, Devon, EX16 6PP by 5pm on Wednesday, June 18.

Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election must reach the electoral registration officer at Phoenix House, Phoenix Lane, Tiverton, Devon, EX16 6PP by 5pm on Thursday, June 26.
