Many people went along and enjoyed coffee, cakes and a chat.
They could also meet Lorraine Beechner, from Exeter, who is a puppy walker for Guide Dogs for the Blind, who took along the dog she is training, a nine-months-old Golden Retriever called “Peggy”.
Many local businesses and individuals supported the event or donated raffle prizes and these included Grape and Grain, Kensa Photography, The New Inn, Coleford, Crediton Tesco, Treloars, Mole Avon Trading Ltd, Tuckers Country Stores, Evans Newsagents, Sandford Orchards, Cartoonz, Morrisons and Mrs S Heaton.
Staff at the Crediton office made cakes and many slices were enjoyed by people who went along, all in aid of the charity.
It was staff at NFU Mutual, the UK’s leading rural insurer, who voted for the charity to be their corporate charity for 2015.
During the year staff at NFU Mutual branches across the UK are hoping to raise £125,000.
Jeremy Atkins, Agent at the Crediton office, said: “The difference a guide dog can make is truly life changing, and we’re so pleased to be raising money for such a good cause.”
Alison Barnes, NFU Mutual Crediton customer services advisor, said that the event raised £250 and the team would like to thank all their supporters for their generous donations.
