A NEW and improved Visit Mid Devon website has launched, providing a modern “digital front door” for the district and making it easier than ever for residents and visitors to explore everything Mid Devon has to offer.
The refreshed website has been designed to support easier trip planning and better discovery of local places, bringing together information on towns and villages, events, attractions, walks and experiences in one accessible platform. With enhanced search functionality, interactive features and curated content, users can quickly find inspiration and plan time in Mid Devon with ease.
From market towns and rural villages to outdoor activities, heritage attractions and independent businesses, the website showcases the breadth of Mid Devon’s offer and helps connect visitors with places and experiences across the district. It also provides a central hub for events and local information, encouraging people to explore more of what’s on their doorstep.
The platform plays an important role in supporting the local economy by increasing the visibility of Mid Devon’s hospitality, leisure and tourism businesses. By bringing together listings, experiences and nearby attractions, the website helps businesses reach new audiences while encouraging longer visits and greater local spend. This approach reflects the wider aim of Visit Mid Devon to provide a central digital hub that connects businesses and audiences and makes the area’s attractions easier to find.
Councillor Steven Keable, Cabinet Member for Planning and Economic Regeneration at Mid Devon District Council, said: “This new Visit Mid Devon website provides a strong digital showcase for the district, making it easier for people to discover what’s on offer across our towns and rural communities.
"Tourism and local businesses play a vital role in supporting our economy, and this platform helps raise their profile, connect them with new audiences and encourage people to spend more time in Mid Devon. It’s an important step in strengthening our visitor economy and promoting the area as a great place to visit, live and do business.”
Pippa, Curator and Director of Tiverton Museum of Mid Devon Life states: “Being part of Visit Mid Devon gives us a valuable platform to showcase what we offer to both local people and visitors. Having all the information in one place makes it much easier for people to find us and explore other things to do nearby, which benefits businesses across the area.
"By joining Visit Mid Devon, it also gives us access to a wider network of local businesses and shared campaign opportunities, helping us work together to promote Mid Devon and reach new audiences.”
The Visit Mid Devon project is funded by Mid Devon District Council, with the enhanced website supported through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and developed by Toco Digital.
