A NEW “work hub” is set to open in Tiverton later this year in a former youth centre.
Mid Devon District Council has finished renovating the building in the town’s Market Place car park into a professional office space for remote workers and small businesses.
It has also appointed a company called “SiGNAL BiZHUB” to manage the hub’s day-to-day operations.
“The completion of the Tiverton Work Hub marks a significant step in our efforts to support enterprise and economic vitality in the district,” cabinet member Cllr Steve Keable (Lib Dem, Taw Vale) said.
"This new space will offer much-needed support to self-employed workers, small businesses, and remote employees.”
SiGNAL BiZHUB CEO Emma Selby said: “The Tiverton Work Hub will offer more than just a desk or an office.
“It will be a place to find like-minded peers, access support, and become part of an energetic local business network.
“We look forward to welcoming entrepreneurs, remote workers, and local organisations to experience this new, vibrant hub and to help put Tiverton on the map as a great place to start and grow a business.
“Our experience shows that when you put community, flexibility, and support at the heart of a work hub, you spark new ideas, partnerships, and local growth.”
The hub features a reception area, a large open-plan office, smaller offices/ meeting rooms, a kitchenette, toilets, outdoor space, secure bike parking and more.
Funding was secured for the project through the council’s Shared Prosperity Fund delivery plan.
It had been hoped the hub would open in spring this year, but now it is expected to be ready “after summer 2025”.
Further details on launch events and membership options will be announced soon, the council said.
Businesses or individuals can register their interest in the space by emailing [email protected].
