THE new sports craze of Zorb Football was enjoyed by teams of youngsters at the Lords Meadow Leisure Centre in Crediton.
Zorb Football Southwest (ZFS) hosted the first-ever Zorb Football event at the leisure centre on Sunday, November 15.
Teams of five people at a time were able to take part in 30-minute adrenaline-filled games of Zorb Football.
Eight teams took part during the afternoon including a groups from Bow Young Farmers’ Club, Queen Elizabeth’s School in Crediton and from Morchard Bishop Football team.
Ben Speirs, from Zorb Football Southwest, of Crediton, explained: “Zorbing came to the UK in 2002 and since then has taken the activity scene by storm.
“The combination of safe fun and the non-stop action-filled time you can have with a few Zorb balls has made them a sure-fire hit.”
Following the success of the event ZFS will be running seven more events in 2016 across Devon, including two more in Crediton during February and November respectively.
Ben added: “Be sure to keep an eye out for us at festivals across the Southwest as well.”
ZFS is jointly run by two local businesses, Precision Soccer and InflataFUN.
Ben explained that Zorb sessions are typically used at stag do’s/hen parties, birthday parties, work events and team building events but can be used for any event you wish.
