Ashton's Coffee Lounge, on the Town Square was officially opened by Mayor Cllr Frank Letch and Mayoress Natalia Letch.

Julie and Steve Hazelwood, owners of Il Casita, are running Ashton Coffee Lounge at the former premises of Kevin Cooper, on Crediton Town Square.

Professional couple, Julie and Steve will continue to run Il Casita alongside their new venture.

Julie explained: "The Lounge has a 'home from home' atmosphere that we wanted to create with a mix of antique and modern furniture and new décor and has created the perfect setting for people to sit and relax in comfort.

There are tables and chairs outside for those who wish to sit in the sun and soak up the ambience of the Town Square."

The menu includes a selection of beverages, a choice of cakes and Devonshire Cream Teas with a selection of sandwiches, panini's and bagels also available.

Steve explained: "We have been open for a few weeks now and a lot of people have said that they think the Lounge has brought life to the square."

Ashton's Coffee Lounge is open from 8.30am to 4pm Monday to Friday and from 9am to 3pm on Saturdays.
