LIGHTS high in the sky over Crediton just before midnight on Saturday, May 31 have been attributed to the student ball taking place at Shobrooke Park.

About 7,500 students from the University of Exeter have been attending the event, The Enchanted Garden Ball, which is organised by The Echanted Group of Thame, Oxford.

The event began at 5.30pm and runs until 3am on Sunday, June 1.

It has been held at Shobrooke Park since 2010 and includes DJs, a funfair, live music and what it describes as “a plethora of installations, ingenious venues, and a soundtrack of mystical beats and surprises around every corner”, adding “the EGB is a most memorable night and is recognised as the biggest event on the student calendar.”
