A BRILLIANT time was had by all who attended the Connect Quiz Night held at the Boniface Centre, in Crediton, on Saturday, March 4.

The evening raised £1,325 and thanks went to the Connect local church youth workers Clarissa Vanstone and Robert Marshall and associate workers Lauren Strand and Alex Gilbert.

The Christian Connect workers are supported by a Local Support Group (LSG) in three secondary schools, in Crediton, Chulmleigh and Okehampton.

Sincere thanks went to all the LSG representatives for the charity who come from all the different churches in Crediton and the surrounding villages, for putting together an evening which was enjoyed by all who attended.

The evening was hosted by Wendy Añez, chair for Connect in Crediton, who said that the amount raised was "fantastic".

There was a three-course meal, a bar, six rounds to the quiz and a raffle.

There were 18 teams of six as well as approximately 20 Connect helpers all present to keep the evening running smoothly.

Wendy extended special thanks to Liz and Brian Allnutt who ran the quiz.

She congratulated the winning team “High Revving”, which consisted of members of Crediton Methodist Church.

Wendy added: "Sincere thanks go to Eileen Brassington who worked tirelessly in the kitchen all evening with her team of helpers.

"Also thanks must go to the six young girls from QE, who have benefited from the work Connect do, who came in for the evening to serve and clear tables. A great success which we hope to repeat next year!"
