THE Friends of Morchard Bishop School (FOMBS) took to the plains of the savanna in glorious Mid Devon during the school half term.

A safari trail was held around the village from Saturday, October 24 to Sunday, November 1, in aid of school funds.

Local residents and businesses made various animal displays for children to spot on the safari trail around the village, which was organised to keep them entertained during the half-term break.

The trail included penguins in back gardens, a panda in a telephone box and meerkats on lawns. There were also kangaroos, an elephant, a lion and many other animals.

FOMBS said that the safari trail not only generated some funds for the school but also provided a fun and active educational outdoor activity for the children to enjoy.
