LAST November, the dance band Red Shed put on a ceilidh to remember their drummer of some 30 years, Peter Hamilton, who died that year.

Such was the affection for Pete that Sandford Parish Hall was packed with dancers and a fantastic night was had by all, with all profits going to Crediton Arts Centre, an important part of Pete's life.

In fact, it was such a great night that the band, and the Arts Centre have decided to make it an annual event - a chance to gather and dance, remember a man whose contributions to Crediton life are legendary, and raise funds for the Arts Centre.

The Second Peter Hamilton Memorial Ceilidh will happen at Sandford Parish Hall at 8pm on Friday, November 24.

Tickets, priced at £8 each are available from Crediton Arts Centre on 01363 773260, on the door, and on-line from: www.ticketsource.co.uk/creditonartscentre .
