IN APRIL Crediton Town Mayor, councillor Frank Letch attended the fifth birthday of Causeway, a weekly club for adults with learning difficulties.

Now flourishing and with a membership of over 60, it is a vibrant club run by volunteers under the stewardship of Jane Bristow and her team at the Congregational church in Crediton High Street.

Councillor Letch told the Courier that he was sad to hear that the club is struggling to find enough volunteers to help with the members. If none are found this obviously important and needed part of Crediton life will have to close.

The Mayor went on: "I am therefore appealing to anybody who has the time and patience to give up just two hours each week to help with this project.

"Please help Crediton to be the caring community it wants to be."

The Causeway Club meets every Wednesday, from 10am until mid-day. If anyone can help would they please contact Jane Bristow on 01363 772985 or the Mayor on 01363 775739.
