A SOLUTION to Landscore Primary School proximity parking issues, which residents of Threshers and Landscore area have been raising, has been suggested by the Mayor of Crediton, Cllr Frank Letch.

Mr Letch, working with Mid Devon District Council Officer, Stuart Noyce, is suggesting that parents park each morning and afternoon (at the beginning and end of each school day) in St Saviour’s Way car park (High Street) then walk children to and from Landscore Primary School.

Mr Letch said that the scheme could alleviate traffic in and around the school.

He explained: “I think the parents and school could organise a scheme where they could take it in turns walking the children to and from the school to other parents waiting at the car park.

“It would be healthy for the children to walk and it is fairly level along Greenway.

“I have suggested to MDDC that the council might be able to provide free parking for the parents for, say, half-an-hour to enable the scheme to work.”

Mr Letch said he hoped the school would take forward the suggestion with parent support.
