EGGESFORD Hunt Supporters Club Duck Race and Hound Racing took place at Nymphayes Farm, Zeal Monachorum, by kind permission of the Harris family, on August Bank Holiday Monday.

More than 100 people went along to enjoy the pleasant summer evening and watch thrilling races and activities.

Bets could be made on the hounds and prior to the hound races were children’s races and an adults race.

The duck race is one of the biggest in the area and was a spectacle with hundreds of ducks, each sold to prospective winners from across the county, floating down the river.

Duck Race results were: 1 Caroline, 2 Heather, 3 Chris, 4 Sue, 5 Gareth, 6 Vanessa. Last duck - David.

In addition there were stalls and games, a barbecue and bar.
