CORNWALL and Devon Sending Love to Ukraine is a charitable organisation based in Callington set up to provide humanitarian aid to the people of Ukraine.

Since March 2022, groups of volunteers, many of whom are from Lions Clubs across the South West district, have taken 34 convoys of aid collected by communities across Devon and Cornwall to Poland.

From here the goods are transported to Ukraine and distributed directly to communities affected by the war, where we know they have made an enormous difference to the lives of individuals and families living there.

Crediton and District Lions Club is once again asking the community to show their ongoing support for Ukrainians by donating essential items from the organisation’s current list of most urgently needed goods for their next convoy, which will be leaving Callington on October 25.

Crediton and District Lions will be collecting donations of goods at Crediton Tesco Store on Friday, September 19 and Saturday, September 20.

Items needed include: nappies, baby food, baby formula, sleeping bags, thermal blankets, all over-the-counter medication, baby personal care, male personal care, anti-inflammatories, female personal care, sun cream, all personal hygiene products, any and all first aid, trauma kits, burn kits, paramedic bags, first aid rucksacks, dried food products (0 to 12 months), and baby clothes.

Cash and card donations will also be most welcome and will be used to buy first aid supplies to send on the convoy.

Crediton and District Lions Club and Cornwall and Devon Sending Love to Ukraine are always looking for more volunteers to support their work and would love to hear from anyone who would like to find out more about what is involved via their Facebook pages: Crediton Lions Club and Cornwall and Devon Sending Love to Ukraine.
