JOHN Boyle's letter in the last issue of the Courier about air pollution in Crediton. He is right, the figures on the pollution machine at Exeter Road should read more than 1 or even 2.
The current build-up of traffic is simply horrendous and the fumes disgusting. Do the authorities care? I don't think so. They don't care because they do not live here and Crediton's obvious need therefore falls to the bottom of the pile.
This "White Elephant" of a proposed link road will do absolutely nothing for Crediton. At the Lords Meadow end of the road lorries will not be able to make the turns.
Building this road is just a waste of money to shut us up.
In the meantime traffic speed at Exeter Road increases day by day. My husband has to use a wheelchair and the last time he used an ambulance, the driver had to stand in the middle of the road so that my husband could be wheeled across the road. It was quite hair-raising, but who cares? The needs of Crediton just do not count!
