AFTER the success of Marie Curie’s first night trek last year, DarkMoor will be returning this summer and the charity is looking for adventurous walkers to help bring light in the darkest hours for those living with a terminal illness.

Devon Events Manager Matt Carruthers explained: “Despite the wind and rain on the night, last year’s night trek was a huge success and our hardy walkers raised £20,000 for the Marie Curie nursing service in Devon.

“This year we’d like even more walkers, like Connie and Jimmy from Crediton, to grab their head torch, lace up their walking boots and join us for this enchanting night trek.”

The 10-mile walk, which begins at 10pm, starts on Saturday, August 19. Every walker who signs up will receive a trekking t-shirt to wear on the night as well as a medal to wear with pride as they cross the finish line in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Minimum age for the walk is 14 and under 18’s must be accompanied by an experienced adult walker.
