I AM writing on behalf of Sustainable Crediton’s Food Larder group to publicly thank Daw Refrigeration from Newton St Cyres and Totterdell Electrical from Sandford.
It was the hottest day of the year, and when we were expecting a delivery of chilled goods from FareShare (an organisation which distributes surplus food), that our fridge in the library broke down at the end of last month.
The biggest challenge was having approximately 250 Scotch eggs to move on as quickly as possible!
Research into the purchase agreement revealed that the fridge had run out of warranty only six weeks earlier so the suppliers refused to help, and, being an organisation of limited funds, we were dreading having to face a hefty bill for either repair or replacement.
In the event two local firms came up trumps!
A big thank you to engineers from Totterdells and Daws who took time to analyse the problem and to repair the fault totally free of charge; we are very grateful.
