ON my way back from Sandford on Sunday morning – was that a small bear in a blue duffle coat with a red hat I saw scuttling into the bushes?
No, what I spotted were two white carrier bags carefully placed at the side of a remote section of the road to Newbuildings.
I am regularly collecting random pieces of rubbish, discarded by slovenly idiots just lobbing beer cans, sandwich wrappers, fast food take away remains, plastic and glass bottles, used vapes and many less savoury items from their car windows, but on this occasion what I found were two white bags each packed with 20 washed and clean marmalade jars!
What seems bonkers is that “Paddington” went to such an effort to find such a remote place to stash his store of empty clean glass jars.
Just placing them in his recycling bin, at home or at the bottle bank of the nearest supermarket carpark would have been so much easier.
Don’t worry Paddington. I collected your jars and added them to our recycling box in time for the collection the following morning.
Next time please don’t be a slovenly idiot.
