A LARGE audience of people attended two recent talks about the woodwork and architecture in St Matthew’s Church at Coldridge.

Experts Hugh Harrison and Jo Cox gave fascinating and deeply informative presentations.

Hugh shared expert insight into the church's remarkable woodwork, recently completing a detailed report on the building, while Jo brought the wider architectural history to life, helping everyone appreciate how the church has evolved over centuries.

Many attendees were especially captivated by the rich history.

In Hugh’s own words, on writing his report about St Matthews he says “Coldridge must have the most diverse collection of woodwork for a parish church throughout the centuries in Devon/Westcountry.”

Funds raise at a coffee morning on April 29 will go towards a Coronation kneeler for Coldridge Parish Church.  AQ 3338
