AN impressive Lapford World War Two Memories Display is currently on show on the Church Green at Lapford as part of VE Day 80th Anniversary Celebrations and Commemorations.
It tells Lapford's World War Two stories from the words of those who remembered it, including evacuees, members of Lapford’s village centre military base (controlling dozens of searchlight stations between Tiverton and Okehampton) and Dick Churchill (last survivor of the Great Escape who lived in Lapford).
