JIM Thatcher at Once Read Book Shop and Once Loved (pre-owned items) strives to continue to support local children’s causes in Crediton.

This year Jim decided to once again support Pippins Pre-school and Nursery and he presented manager Hazel Hodge and deputy manager Sharlene Treen with a cheque for £207.51.

Hazel and Sharlene were very grateful for the donation and said that Pippins needed a slide in the baby room, as well as an art rack and other equipment for all the children to use.

Jim explained: "This is the second donation this year and I would like to thank Kiriley Lucca and Andrew Vacarri, Charles Montgomery, Graham Lewis, Carol Pocock and family, along with all other community donations.

"From every sale from Once Read, varying amounts of money are donated and given to children in the town through various schools, nursery’s and organisations.

Every donation of books and unwanted items from Crediton’s community helps towards these small but helpful gestures.
