IN my opinion the demise of Crediton Hospital is being brought about partly through successive government's of all political parties not controlling inflation and partly through over regulation. The building does not need to be palatial and a caring nurse does not need a university degree. Neither of these can now be afford as a taxation is already grossly unfair. An individual working a 35-hour week on minimum wage pays income tax, National Insurance and VAT on part of spending, at the other end a tax rate in excess of 33 per cent amounts to confiscation. Of the infrastructure, libraries, conveniences, roads, class sizes, are similarly affected. Crediton resident Name and address supplied
