WORK has been taking place this week to repair the clock mechanism at Crediton Parish Church and it is hoped that the chimes and clock will soon be back in action.

Luke Ridge, from Cumbria Clock Company, who has been undertaking the works and is installing three new auto wind motors on top of the church clock mechanism said that he had to have a number of parts specially made as no such parts exist for the historic clock mechanism.

It was late in November last year that the clock chimes went out of action and these have been sorely missed by many local residents.
