HOLOCAUST Memorial Day will be remembered at Hayward’s School in Crediton on January 27.

At the school there will be a range of lessons, virtual or in school to mark the event.

Class teacher Hannah Down said that the aim is to remember those who were murdered for who they were and those who stand against prejudice and hatred today.

A number of virtual commemorations will take place.

The details of the Zoom talks and discussions are: 

7.30pm Wednesday, January 27 - Stuart Raine: the story of Otto Deutsch, Kindertransport child.

7.30pm Wednesday, February 3 - Anastasia Somerville-Wong: Genocide in Cambodia, when the darkest side of our nature prevails.

7.30pm Wednesday, February 10 - Helen Fry: the story of the Jewish refugees living in North Devon during World War Two.
