DEVON Alert are reporting that the traffic lights in Union Road/North Street area of Crediton are not working.

They add that engineers have been advised to attend and add that motorists are advised to approach with care.

The incident was reported just after 9am today, Wednesday, January 14.

Reports say that there have been long tailbacks in Crediton High Street as a result.

The traffic lights at Bernaville on the A377 have been removed but those at Downes Corner are still in place.

Motorists are also advised of the road closure today and tomorrow between Crediton and Tiverton near the former cat and animal centre.

There are reports of icy roads in the Cheriton Bishop/Whitestone and Poughill areas.
