CREDITON Parish Church is to welcome a new curate at the end of June.

Helen Drever, who has been appointed by the Bishop of Exeter, will be licensed as a Lay Worker in the Benefice on Wednesday, June 29 and will be welcomed at the Family Holy Communion service on Sunday, July 3 which will be held in the Boniface Centre.

Helen lived and worked in Exeter before being ordained and she has been training for ordination for the last two years at Ripon College in Cuddesdon, near Oxford.

Through the summer months she will be getting to know the parishes within the Benefice and observing and taking part in various services. She will then be ordained Deacon at Exeter Cathedral on Sunday, September 11.
