A NUMBER of planning applications were considered at the September 3 meeting of Crediton Hamlets Parish Council.

Applications considered were:?18/00680: Extension and re-landscaping of car park and alterations to hole 10 fairway and hole 12 tee and fairway at Downes Crediton Golf Course.?It was resolved to defer this matter as the council was awaiting revised papers including a traffic management plan (proposed by Councillor Mortimer).?18/01195: Erection of replacement porch at 20 Yeoford Meadows. It was resolved to support this application (Proposed by Cllr Beasley).

Planning Decisions: The following applications had been approved with conditions as filed:

18/00761: Change of Use of stable building to holiday unit at Treehouse, Woodland Head. 18/00826 Prior Notification of change of use of agricultural building to dwelling at Beare Mill. 18/00959 : Erection of single storey extension to south elevation at Higher Town Barn, Woodland Head.

18/00942: Erection of dormer roof extension at Higher Dewsmoor, Barnstaple Cross. 17/01090: Outline for the erection of up to 40 dwellings with associated access, parking, open space, landscaping and supporting infrastructure at land adjacent to Brookdale/Threshers. 18/00619: Erection of extension to shop at Downes Mill, Crediton.

Planning Matters: The council noted that application, 17/00348, the residential development of up to 257 dwellings at Creedy Bridge had been deferred.

The council had also received responses from Mid Devon District Council in relation to a number of planning enforcement matters one of which remains ongoing.

The council notes that there had not been a community interest group bid in relation to the Mare and Foal and that the appeal against application 17/01504 had been withdrawn.

The council was advised that the Mare and Foal now had new owners.

Crediton Council Offices building: The council had received a request from the town clerk and a request to support a petition.

The council resolved that it would not write to Mid Devon District Council in support because the councillors did not believe that they were in receipt of all the facts and because the time had passed for trying to secure the building for Crediton Town Council (Proposed by Cllr Mortimer).

It was resolved that the clerk would seek alternative venues for meetings (Proposed by Cllr Mortimer).

Remembrance Service, November 11: It was agreed that 12 members of the council and their partners will attend this joint service with Crediton Town Council. The council wish the chairman to stand with the Mayor of Credton for the salute.

Bus Shelter for Yeoford: The clerk reported that no-one had contacted her from the parish about the siting of a bus shelter. The council resolved not to pursue this matter.

Roads and Footpaths: The council noted that the contractor, Mr J Butt, had done an excellent job verge ploughing in the parish and the clerk was asked to write to Meg Booth, Head of Highways about this.

Councillors noted that some roads had been repaired in the summer and reported others that still required attention, in particular Chapel Road, Yeoford and the flooding problems at West Studham.

MDDC Councillors: Councillors Heal and Coren attended the meeting and councillors discussed outstanding issues between the district councillors and the council.

Crediton Boniface Rotary Club planters: The council noted the excellent impact the planters had made upon the town. The clerk was asked to write to the Rotary Club to thank them for setting these up and maintaining them.
