CHILDREN at Landscore School recently got ready for spring by overhauling the school garden and greenhouse.

Under the guidance of Mrs Powlesland, pupils have been working hard to prepare the ground and plant up seeds ready for a bumper crop.

Their work has been helped by a kind donation of two apple tress by Tesco and by the owner of Homeleigh Garden Centre, Crediton who are looking after 72 small plants in their heated greenhouse to help them grow so they are ready to plant outside.

The garden will provide growing spaces for classes to oversee and somewhere for pupils to enjoy the outdoors.

There are plans to launch an after-school gardening club and the school is also preparing to be part of Crediton’s Britain in Bloom entry in July.
