THERE were more exhibitors at Zeal Monachorum's Vegetable, Flower and Homecraft Show on Saturday, September 2 than last year, plus there was a good number of people who had never exhibited before, much to the delight of the organising Village Hall Committee.

There was a superb display in the Village Hall of produce and handicrafts.  An auction followed the prize presentations by Erica Eden, chairman of the Village Hall Trustees.

Classes included potatoes grown in a bucket, a courgette cake and, for the children, decorated cup cakes, a drawing of a “magic” tree and a creature made with vegetables and/or fruit.

Erica Eden, said: “It was a lovely occasion with a full hall of people in the afternoon admiring the exhibits.

“Thanks must go to the judges and to our volunteers who worked so hard to make it run smoothly - it's not easy keeping track of everything and making sure the points are added up correctly!”
