SATURDAY, April 1 was a very special day for Crediton resident, Ron Cuthbertson.
Sandford Parish Hall was the venue for a large gathering of Ron’s family, friends and ex-work colleagues (from the Met Office, Bracknell) to celebrate his 90th birthday.
Daughter Sue, and son- in-law, Alan, flew over from Florida with their two sons, Daniel and Adam, to be with him on the day. There was also family from Tuscany in Northern Italy and Palma, Majorca who made the journey, plus many family and friends from across the UK.
A sumptuous buffet was provided by Nessie’s Bistro and Delicatessen in Crediton, and there was a selection of music playing all afternoon, thanks to Alan, and a quiz for the guests on “Life in 1927”, the year Ron was born.
The hall was beautifully decorated by Ron’s son Nigel and his family.
Members of several groups and organisations Ron belongs to (Devon Senior Voice, Kirton Photography Club and Algerine Class Minesweepers) were in attendance and a wonderful time was had by all.
