TO support local Christmas programmes and to enhance trade in the market towns of Mid Devon, 24-hour free parking will be available in the Council’s long-stay car parks in the run up to Christmas.

Parking will be available as in previous years on the following Saturday’s as follows:

Crediton – St Saviour’s Way Car Park and Market Street Car Park:

Saturday, December 4; Saturday, December 11 and Saturday, December 18.

Parking will also be free-of-charge on the same Saturdays in Cullompton – Station Road Car Park and Tiverton – Multi-Storey Car Park.

Normal parking charges apply at the above car parks on all other days of the year.

Mid Devon District Councillor Andrew Moore, Cabinet Member for Finance, said: “The festive period is a key trading time for our local high streets.

"In the lead up to Christmas we have brought back free parking again this year to help support local businesses and encourage residents and visitors to shop in Mid Devon.

"I hope everyone enjoys what our towns and markets have to offer and can pick up some Christmas shopping or have a bite to eat.”
