TUESDAY, August 9 sees the first of six free music recitals at Crediton Congregational Church, when piano teacher and choir leader Tim Matthews opens the series with a varied programme of classical and modern piano music.

On Wednesday, August 10 leading guitarist and composer David Cottam will be the performer.

Now in its third year, the Summer Lunchtime Recitals offer a rare opportunity to hear beautiful and varied music played by some of the best locally-based musicians.

Each recital starts at 1.10pm and lasts for 40 minutes. The series runs over three weeks, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Subsequent recitals in the series are: Tuesday, August 16 - Rebecca Willson, piano; Wednesday, August 17 - the Starlings vocal octet; Tuesday, August 23 – Carol Galton, piano, with Robert Stephenson, flute and Wednesday, August 24 - Alex Wilson, piano.

Doors are open from 12.45pm for light refreshments. All the events are free, but donations are invited.

The series is presented by the Music Makers’ in partnership with Crediton Congregational Church, who are grateful for the financial support of Crediton Town Council and Hillbrow Residential Care Home.
