THERE was a football theme to Hayward’s School Summer Fair, with every class in the school representing one of the countries taking part in the World Cup.
The children were dressed in colourful clothes representing the colours from the flags of the countries and they also carried each country’s flag.
There was an enthusiastic, noisy and colourful opening parade with Dennis Cavanagh, a parent, acting as MC.
and there were also many stalls with football themed games or items available to purchase.
Each class had a stall and there was a bouncy castle, bar and barbecue, face painting, spot the ball, hook-a-duck, stick-on-transfers, ice creams, toffee apples, target football, lucky dips, Jazzy Jars, football tombola and a cake stall.
The Hayward’s School Choir sang three songs from "The Greatest Showman" and dancers put on an impressive display of fitness and agility.
A Crediton fire appliance attended for children to look at.
The evening, which was organised by the Parent Teacher Association, was a great success and everyone had an enjoyable time.
