STAFF at Jacksons, Crediton took part in a charity football match to raise money for the Children's Hospice SW.
The "Shop-floor" team beat "the rest" in a surprisingly entertaining 10-6 goal-fest.
The "shop-floor" (factory, engineers and warehouse) got off to a flying start with limited resistance and took the upper hand, leading 5-1 at the end of the first half.
"The rest "(made up of representatives from technical, sales, finance, operations mgt and even the MD) really stepped up in the second half with some subtle tactical team changes leveraging the strengths in the team.
Fifteen minutes into the second half the rest had pulled the score-line back to 5-5. By this time, it's fair to say, the lack of match fitness was beginning to show and youth may have slightly out-weighed experience with the "shop-floor" eventually pulling away to a 10-6 lead at the final whistle.
Managing director, David Walter explained: "The game was played in a great spirit and attracted a significant crowd of employees and relatives.
"We have every intention of making this a regular fixture with many of "the Rest" committing to being a bit fitter next time!
"Many thanks to Crediton United FC for allowing us full use of their facilities, which enabled us to put all the proceeds to our designated charity the Children's Hospice SW."
