A NEW Scout Group has got off to a great start and recently held an Investiture Evening to welcome new members.

The First Lapford Scout Group has been set up to meet local demand from young people.

It currently has 42 members aged from six to 14, who have joined as Beavers, Cubs and Scouts and the Group also has eight volunteer leaders.

Marie Waycott, Group Scout Leader, First Lapford Scout Group, said: “Scouting offers challenge and adventure.

“The Lapford Scout Group is continuing to grow through support from parents and the local community and other support within Scouting in Devon.

“The group is continually looking for young people to join and for adults who are able to volunteer so that we can offer even more fun and adventure every week.”

If you are an adult who can offer a few hours of your time, it can make year’s of difference.

For further details about volunteering, or if you have a young person who wants to join the Scout Group or another group in the area, please email Marie at: [email protected] .
