THERE was a great buzz about Downes Crediton Golf Club on Saturday, February 14 as an enthusiastic field of players took the opportunity to get out and play in the Mens 1-3-2 competition, after all the snow and ice that had lingered since the beginning of February.

Teams of three took the best one score on the first six holes, three scores on the next six and the best two on the last six.

Results were as follows:

1 David Trodd, Peter Russell and Robert Dobson 85; 2 Alan Hatherleigh, Matthew Davey and Matthew Perry 44; 3 Tim De'ath, Brian Broxton and Paul Willcocks 81.

LADIES SECTION

Results of the County Stableford I played on February 19 were as follows:

Division One: Pat Jeens 33pts, 2 Angela Battershall 31pts (BB9), 3 Alison Hilton 31pts.

Division Two: 1 Ruth Ford 36pts, 2 June Skuse 33pts, 3 Annet Coles 28pts.

Results of a Ladies PAR competition played on February 26 were as follows:

Silver Division: 1 Sophie Button plus 1, 2 Judith Ezard minus 2.

Bronze Division One: 1 Joyce Gilg equal par, 2 Mo Sparrow minus 1.

Bronze Division Two: 1 Betty Willey plus 1, 2 Linda Gill plus 1.
