A NEW Vintage, Crediton/Exeter-based dance band will be playing for a fun family barn dance at Landscore Primary School Hall in Crediton on Saturday, March 4, in aid of the Holy Cross Crediton Campaign Roof Appeal.

The band features Jenny Read on piano, Ed Rennie on melodeons and Matt Norman on mandolin.

Caller Rosie Baines will be guiding the dancers through the steps and ensuring everyone has a great time.

The dance will take place from 7pm until 10pm.

Crediton based Ed, told us: “We’re really looking forward to the evening, it’s going to be a great feel-good family event. Lots of dancing and maybe a game or two and an awesome raffle!”

Ed (who is also a tenor in Holy Cross Church Choir) went on to say: “Crediton Parish Church is a wonderful building, but it has got a bit leaky of late.

"So many people have been working tirelessly to help raise money for the restoration, this is a chance for us to do our bit. The sums needed overall are daunting, in the region of £1.5 million. We’re not anticipating raising all that on the night, but every little helps!”

Tickets for the dance, are priced at £10 (£8 in advance) for adults, £6 (£5 in advance) for children under 16 and a family ticket (two adults and two children under 16) £23 in advance only.

They are available from A E Lee Outfitters in Crediton High Street or at the "Crediton Courier" office or online at: www.spinningpathmusic.co.uk .
