GWEN May of Priorton Barton, near Crediton, recently celebrated her 90th birthday with a meal at the Thelbridge Inn for family and close friends.

The guests totalled some 90 people and of those, 80 were related to Gwen. Her family consists of four children, 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and there were numerous cousins also in attendance.

In Gwen’s own words: “It was nice to see all the family, close and distant, gathered together at a happy occasion”.

Gwen requested that there be no presents but instead she asked for donations towards the Devon Air Ambulance Trust.

An amazing figure of £500 was received on the day and further monies have been sent direct to the Devon Air Ambulance Trust.

Gwen handed over the £500 to John Groves, representing the Air Ambulance earlier this week. She would like to thank everyone for a truly memorable day and thank them for their generous donations.
