As well as loyal Traidcraft customers, the event reached new people;
a passer by, a gardener, grandparents waiting to fetch their grandchild from across the road, bus passengers, members of an art class having their coffee break and U3A members, some of whom have only recently moved to Crediton.
Laura said: "Fairtrade is about paying farmers and craftspeople a fair and reliable price.
"Fairness, reliability and hope are important to us all".
Abdoulaye Diakite, a cotton producer from Mali, who visited Crediton a few years ago, saw the event on Facebook and wrote: "Bonjour, tres heureuse de voir l’engagement de Laura tres actif pour un monde plus juste et meilleur pour tous, surtout pour les producteurs" (Hello, very happy to see Laura’s commitment - she is very active for a world more just and better for us all, especially producers).
Laura added: "Thanks also to Lucy, who took over the former Triple C café a year ago, for making everyone welcome."
