COPPLESTONE Fair Share Day, held in Copplestone Methodist Church rooms on Saturday, November 16 saw a large number of people go along to buy Fair Trade and locally sourced produce.
A white elephant stall of unused gifts raised more than £130 in support of local farmers through Farming Community Network, while more than £300’s worth of Fair Trade items sold ensures that farmers who produce the basic raw materials will have a decent basic standard of living.
Fairly traded t-shirts were also on sale from Truth not Trash and cards from Sreepur and Traidcraft.
Children’s activities were available with Sherrin Neenan, the church’s youth and family worker and tasting samples of Morrisons Fair Trade chocolate and bananas, plus Traidcraft jelly beans, biscuits and humbugs kept everyone happy.
