CENTRAL Devon MP Mel Stride took quick action recently after several parents from Okehampton contacted him regarding difficulties their children had getting to Exeter College.

These included bus capacity, concerns about overcrowding and confusion as to whether students could travel on ordinary bus services.

Mel immediately contacted both the college and Stagecoach and was able to report back to the parents who contacted him that additional bus services were being provided.

Mel said: “There are now two dedicated college buses which mirror the No. 6 route, with the buses travelling together just before the main timetabled service to allow as many students as possible to board.

"In the event all the students cannot fit into these two buses the main regular service will gladly take them while observing social distancing guidance. I hope this will resolve the issue but the college is keeping careful track of how arrangements are working and I will gladly assist again if any problems reoccur.”

The service also stops at Tedburn, Pathfinder and Cheriton Bishop.
