EXETER Cathedral bells are currently out of action while refurbishment takes place.

The Cathedral bell ringers will be holding its "Third Saturday" Open Practice at Holy Cross Church in Crediton tomorrow, Saturday, July 21 from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.

Other practices will be held at 12-bell towers around the region.

Geoff Sparling, Crediton Parish Church Tower Captain, said: "It will be good to be able to welcome them here as at least four of our ringers have benefited from membership of the Cathedral band, allowing ringing to a very high standard.

"It is planned for them to hold the August practice here also."
