A Photography exhibition, featuring work by Crediton Photography Club, was held in the foyer at the Crediton Tesco store at Wellparks on Saturday, September 1, from 9am to 4pm.

Several wonderfully composed prints were on display with subjects ranging from steam locomotives to portraits, via some lovely wildlife and scenic compositions.

The exhibition drew lots of attention from many of the customers shopping at the store. Several visitors expressed an interest in attending a club meeting and it is hoped that some will actually join as members, something that the Photography Club will really welcome.

Tesco, Crediton, in conjunction with the club are holding a competition for anyone to enter.

Entries will close on September 28. There are two age categories: Under 16yrs and over 16 years. Copies of the simple rules are available from the customer service desk at Tesco Wellparks.

Do not be put off having a go if you are an amateur and even if you only use the camera on your phone! All professional photographers started as amateurs.

The club is looking for original pictures of original subjects - It is entirely up to you what you enter.

All entries will be judged by the Photography Club and six “winners” will be chosen in each category.

The 12 finalists will be contacted on October 8.

There will then follow a ’Peoples’ Vote’, running from October 8 to 28, with the winners in each category being announced then. Prizes will be announced in due course.

It hoped that a calendar, incorporating the 12 finalists’ photographs might be produced, with proceeds from any sales going to Hospiscare. This is to be confirmed later.

Tesco are very pleased that Crediton Photography Club have been able to leave a few of the exhibition photographs on display in the store, next to the customer service desk. These will stay there until approximately September 14.

Please have a go and enter a photo into the Competition (maximum of two prints per person).
