CREDITON’S award-winning, community owned bookshop is excited to welcome the bestselling author Emma Stonex back to The Bookery on Thursday, June 5.

Emma previously wrote the highly acclaimed novel “The Lamplighters” and has been drawn back to the South West for the setting of her most recent novel, “The Sunshine Man”, a thriller focussing on the revenge sought by a sibling determined to track down the killer of her sister upon his release from prison.

Set inland on the moors as well as the Cornish coast it finally returns to Devon, where it all began. A story of a terrible crime that shakes a community and a revenge plotted over decades. It is a tangled mystery about love, grief and how our childhood experiences play out in the rest of our lives.

Emma will be in conversation with Anne Oxborough OBE from 7pm on Thursday, June 5 at The Bookery.

She will be answering questions and signing copies of her novels, which will be available to purchase.

Emma was born in 1983 and grew up in Northamptonshire. After working in publishing for several years, she quit to pursue her dream of writing fiction.

"The Lamplighters" was a "Sunday Times" bestseller. She lives in Bristol with her husband and two young daughters.

Anne Oxborough OBE was in education all her working life, heading up the Faculty of English and Languages for a number of years at Exeter Tertiary College before becoming Assistant Principal. Shortly after retirement she was awarded an OBE for her services to Further Education.

For the past 10 years Anne has been involved in literary festivals and has interviewed a large, eclectic range of authors.
